An Endless Scavenger Hunt

I have been looking for the same knitting pattern for two seasons. The problem is, it’s not a specific pattern. I have never seen it before and I’m not exactly sure where to find it. The only thing I have to go on is an “I’ll know it when I see it” feeling.

The object of my desire has no name. I have kind of created a name out of thin air, which is more a series of other names squished together to create a wish list of everything imaginable. I’m looking for a shrug shawl collar cocoon drape open front relaxed warm half sleeve waist length cardigan sweater.

As I mentioned, this missing sweater search has been going on for quite some time. Long enough that I’ve been able to think of about every instance where I would wear this sweater: I would wear it in the fall with jeans and a band t-shirt like The Ramones, The Kinks, The Clash, the anything that would look okay a little beat up and old school. In the winter it would go under my mustard pea coat and it’s large collar would double as a scarf. When the jacket came off, the sweater would be belted. In the spring, the same belted sweater would go over a floral or lacy shirt-dress and would make a lovely contrast. Finally, in the summer the sweater would be thrown on over shorts while sitting out by a bonfire.

The only thing I need now is the actual sweater.
